La La La - Naughty Boy ft. Sam Smith

Hello everyone!
This post is going to be different from the usual, but I hope y'all will like it anyway!

I'm going to be talking about the music video of La La La. It is a really popular song with over 66 million views on YouTube. You can check it out below!

The reason why I wanted to blog about their music video is because I found the concept interesting and worth sharing :) So before I start, I will need y'all to finish watching the entire music video (trust me, it's worth your 4 minutes)

Meaning of song:
It's just about a guy not being able to stand his girlfriend's nagging and decided to shut her out by covering his ears.

Plot of MV:
It is based on the story of "Wizard of Oz", with a story adapted to an oral Bolivian legend. The music video was also shot in Bolivia!

In this story, there was a deaf boy who fled from his abusive home and found a stray dog that accompanied him since then.

After living on the streets for a some time, he discovers that he has a special talent of perceiving people's troubles, which he can heal by screaming, which was said to be as loud as an earthquake or a tornado (not sure if I want to be healed by him..).

One day, he found an old man who was stoned by villagers and was being taunted and ridiculed.

By screaming, he resolves the situation and revives the old man's heart.

Together, they met a disfigured man who was abused and ostracized by the society. The disfigured man revealed that he was a prophet that was cursed by a demon called El Tio because he did not worship him.

El Tio was considered as the lord of the underworld and people would offer gifts to him in order to be protected or to ease his anger. The prophet said that anyone who could hear the demon would fall under his control. He told them that the demon could be found in a desert, where there was once a town in which people worshiped the demon and he cursed them to kill themselves (but why!).

Together, they went to where the demon resides.

When they reached the mine where the demon was at, everyone with their hearing intact had to leave so that they would not be cursed by the demon. Thus, the boy was left alone to over voice the demon and to stop him from cursing others.

Well, this MV has an open end - the boy can either be seen as a sacrifice (since the demon is supposedly very powerful) or as a hero who defeated the demon. Well, I chose the latter.

Additional Information:
The cap that the little boy was wearing are of Andean cultural origin. They are similar to the headgear that a Yatiri wears (Yatiri are medical practitioners and community healers). This implies that the boy has the ability to heal and sense other people's problems.

To become a Yatiri healer, a young Yatiri has to find an elder Yatiri in the beginning of his journey.

WHICH WAS WHY THIS OLD MAN APPEARED AT THE START OF THE MV.

MIND = BLOWN

The research on this MV was worth every single second! It was so interesting and I am amazed by how the director of this MV managed to incorporate the the story into this video. Now that you really understood the story behind this MV, it's time for you to really enjoy and appreciate the music :)
